each time I select a line and then hit enter it take at least 2 seconds for the crosshair to move. This sounds fast but waiting 2 seconds for either a regen or refresh that is a lot of time. And it just starting doing this in the last couple of days. Any ideas?

Hi
Which Autodesk product are you using ? I will then *move* this thread to the appropriate product forum.
Plus, does this "2 second" delay occur in all drawing files ?
Have a good one, Mike

You computer could be getting less and less free space and thus slowing down. I still use AutoCAD 2004 and experienced Regen delays only when I had much drawings saved to my pc. Now, all drawings are saved to the server so I have some peace while working now.

Does this happen on all computers or just yours?
Does this happen when you first turn your computer on, or slowly get worse throughout the day?
Has this always happened or just since you upgraded software/hardware?
A long shot, but is it definitely the regen and not the autosave set to 1min (we had that problem here thats all)?
A few things you could try:
1. Under options ~ system ~ Layout regen options: set it to Cache model tab and all layouts.
2. Under options ~ display ~ reduce the display resolution settings.
3. Turn off the regenauto sysvar.
I've had a quick look through these forums and Autodesk knowledge base but it doesn't seem to point to anything other than hardware specs, eg RAM, memory, garphics card etc.

Last week I had this problem where each time I would pick a line and then hit esc or enter the regen would take 2 sec or more. I found out that I had some kind of setting in my profile. by change to a new profile I managed to get rid of this nasty little delay. Just heads up.
