Hi AC.
Do you want to dimension the diameter of the pipe?
If so, no "cut" should be required. A diameter dimension should be placed within the current co-ordinate system at the current value of Elevation.
Do you want to dimension a length? Simply snap to the centre or a quadrant point at each end.
Something entirely different? Please explain further.
Take care
PS is this in A2006 (as the title) or in A2007 (as the forum area) ?

HI JABERWOK
THANK YOU FOR YOUR QICK REPLY. I have not expressed myself clearly.
I've have tried to find the 2006 forum without succes.
If I have a drawing of an engine. This engine I want to make a cut through so I can view all the details inside like I do in mechanical desktop.
Can I do the same in ABS2006 or AutoCad 2006?

Try the "slice" command, then pick three points defining your plane of slice. Remember the current layer will be the layer of the slice entities.

 I'll go ahead and move it for you. There isn't a forum specifically for 2006 3D, it is grouped in with the previous releases, as they have very similar capabilities.
Thank you. :)

but the objects will still be on their original layers.
AC.
You probably should save a copy of the solids before Slicing them.

If you want to keep the original solids, use the section command, this will allow you to draw "new" section, and keep existing solids.
