Section - gaps in segments - no drag handle

I have noticed that one section is behaving badly in a some plan views only.

When I toggle on the "gaps in segments", the gaps appear but there are no drag handles to change the size of the gaps.

This section is behaving properly in many other plan and section views. The "gaps in segments" works and drag handles are visible and operational.

Have you 'pinned' the section ?

When sections are pinned you cant change the drag handles ?

I am not familiar with "pinning" a section and am unable to find anything on point in Revit help.
