View Full Version : Grid End Alignment Lock

Sometimes I slide the grid ends to align and I get the lock icon, which is what I generally want.
Other times I do the same thing, get the green alignment line, .... but no lock symbol.
I've looked at the grid properities, but can't find anything there.

Some grids have been created at different times during the project.

Anyone have an idea how to consistently lock the grid ends ?

Can you recall if the grids started from opposite ends rather than the same ends? I find that grids like this don't "behave" until I drag them end for end to get the "origins" the same. Just a thought.

Steve,

What exactly do you mean by " dragging end for end " ?

I tried rotating them, but that causes problems since things are locked to them. I also tried swithing the bubble to the other end and then aligning, but it still wont lock with the other grids.
I'm pretty sure that the offending grids did start from opposite ends to the good ones ..... I'm just such a sloppy drafter :)

Just select a grid, then grab one end and drag it past the other end. Then take the end you didn't change and drag it where the other started. You have effectively "switched" it end for end. That more betterer?

re: my avatar...maybe that's why I'm so tired?? Could be the going to bed late thing though...

Yep, thanks

That fixes it.
Maybe you should post this " little known feature " in the tips forum. ?
