Corner Boards?

What is the best way to show corner boards on a wall with siding? Can you use vertical sweeps in a stacked wall? Thanks

I don't know what corner boards are, but you can use vertical sweeps on a stacked wall.

How? I created a corner board as a profile. When I trip to sweep the wall, the "L" shaped board is oriented wrong. I also looked in the wall editor and can not find vertical sweeps.

When drawing a wall sweep you have the choice of making it Verticle or horizontal before you place it.

Try using a sweep for each side of the corner and joining them. Or... A face based component would also work. Or you can try this old thing that someone on this forum made a while back

I always do corner boards with a generic model family I made. Just place it in plan, and lock the top and bottom as required. I never had luck with wall sweeps, but I established my methodology at v5.1. Things may be better now.

I like 4christo4's method as well, 'cause I try to stay away from that automatic/integrated/sometimesworkswhenyourememberwhenitdoesn't stuff.

Also, you can use the Split Face Tool.

Hi Bomber,

I am just having to model timber corner keystones (for the first time, for a heritage building) and have made a 2 Pick model family which works fine...we use a a lot of "boxed corners" in one way or another in NZ, and for your application the 2 Pick model template sounds like it is the go because you can orient and host the family so easily.

There is no 2-pick model template with my Revit package. Please explain!!!

Hi Joef,

go to new family, select Generic Model Line Based.
There is a reference line to help control the overarching length, family you make.
Beegee did a tutorial on a casewrok example which is worthwile perusing.

attached simple example , there is a RH and LH module to suit what I needed for these.

What I have done to make this work is make all my exterior wall joins miter and then placed the corner trim that I have attached below. These are just profiles I made back in Revit 5 or 6 but they continually work with each release. Hope this helps.

Congrats too on your move. My daughter lives there. Did your new company just get started with Revit or were they using it before you got there?

They just got started with Revit and was one of the reasons why they hired me.
