Missing Rotation Icon

This is a new one to me.

I have a user who has lost the rotation Icon when selecting an object.
Any object at all he selects doe snot show the little rotation icon that we can then move to its required origin prior to rotating.

If he starts a brand new project then the icon is available when selecting objects to rotate. ?

Standard text when selected shows the Icon but anything else dosen't
Shut down revit - restarted and still the same

Nothing changed on the machine at all but this has just started happening today

has anyone any ideas on this ?

Having the active workset turned off in the view also affects things like leaders when placing text (can't see the leader until after the text is placed) and also when placing a detail component family (can't see the detail component until after it's placed).

Thanks for the update. I knew about the detail component, but not the others.

One wouldn't think that should happen...
