This has diven me batty since ACAD 2000-
We use an HP (600) plotter, and prefer to plot
black & white, with greyscale.
Just purchased ACAD LT 2004, and am having problems
setting up plot style table to do just that- It either wants to
print ALL colours as geryscales, or prints everything
(incl. greyscales-[pens 250-255] as black-
Checking box for Greyscale, and giving a screen percentage
seems to have no effect.
ACAD r14 always did this beautifully, but importing .pgp, pcp.
cts?,xyz? doesnt seem to work-
What are we doing wrong?

If I understand you correctly, you want to have some colors mapped to black and some to grayscale.
In the plot style manager, click on the Form View tab and then on the left side, click on the color Red - Color 1. The first property listed is the Color property. Its default color is 'Use object color'. To print black, change the color here. The 3rd prop listed is Grayscale, set it to ON. Make sure you are not selecting ALL the colors when you do this. Changing the Screening property only "fades" the selected color, whereas grayscale is a value of gray only.

OK- I was about to try that next-
(changing red, yellow, etc, to Black- and
my grayscales (pens 250-255) are already checked
'ON'
So I will let you know- thanks for the reply!

Thanks!
Yep- Ive got the pen colours and sizes worked out now-
NOW- if I can just figure out why 2004 LT plots so slow-!
The only thing I have not tried yet;
changing the support paths- to point to a different driver?
I have R14 on this machine, and it plots beautifully-
I eventually gave up on Acad 2000- as I NEVER could get
it to plot correctly-
Have updated driver- messed with spooler settings, everything-
It takes a good 4 0r 5 minutes for a 500 kb plot file to start printing-
I AM on a broadband network, couls that be the culprit?
Again- any ideas appreciated!

Hi
Check out the following Technical Document on the Autodesk web site under the Knowledge Base section -
ID: TS45965 - HP DesignJet 600 plotter takes longer to plot in AutoCADĀ® and AutoCAD LTĀ® (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteID=123112&id=2878170&linkID=2475323)
Have a good one, Mike

Thanks much for that Mike-
I shall check that out-
The strange part is, one other user on this network, using acad 2000
on a win 2k machine, plots just fine to this same device-
It would make sense then, that this is an issue with acad lt 2004-
Thanks again for prompt response!
