Is there anyway to subtotal schedule items?

Here's the scenario.

I have assigned conduit numbers to all of my conduit runs. When I run my schedule table each individual conduit segment is listed in the schedule. What I want to do is somehow total these individual segment up so that my table will show the total length for each conduit run and not for each segment. For example:

Currently 2 conduit runs may have 2 segments (ie straight runs between bends) and my schedule looks like this:

Conduit No.....Size......Length
A101...............2"........10'-0"
A101...............2"........33'-3"
A102...............1"........12'-3"
A102...............1"........10'-3"

I want it to look like this

Conduit No.....Size....Length
A101..............2".......43'-3"
A102..............1".......22'-6"

Right now I'm importing my schedule table into Excel and subtotaling the data there but I'd like to have it done in ABS

ABS 2006
Windows XP Pro

To Forum Administrator:

Since I'm not getting any response on this forum is there a possibility of posting a link to this thread on the ADT forum? Maybe someone on that forum will have some suggestions.

It may just be that I'm trying to get the program to do more than it was designed to do. However I think the ability to subtotal within a schedule would be a useful tool for future releases.

By including a quantity column in your schedule table, you can get objects that have the exact same data to "collapse" onto one line. You can hide the quantitiy column, if you like.

You can also get a total for an entire column, as you may be aware.

There is not currently a way to get a subtotal for a section of a schedule. Sounds like a good wish for ADT - which would then make it available in ABS. You may want to post this over in the ADT Wish List Forum (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=43). Be certain to read the Wish List Guidelines (http://www.augi.com/archdesktop/default.asp?page=988), first.

Thanks David,

I've added it to the ADT wish list. If you are anyone else think it's a good idea please go to the wish list item and reply to my poll question. Until then I guess I'll keep importing into Excel.
