If I create an ordinate dimension of any point in the II., III. or IV.
quadrant of the UCS (where the X- and/or Y-values are negative (less
than Zero), I always get a positive dimension text (without the leading
"-"). The help system says: "AutoCAD uses the absolute coordinate value
of the current UCS to determine the ordinate values." If I pick a point
with a negative X- or Y-value I expect a negative dimension value.
Can you add this feature or I'm missing something?

This is a good point. What if the datum is located on a part that does not have a convenient lower-left location?

Yes, that's our problem. We want to use the values of the ordinate dimensions for CNC programming and we have a lot of parts where the origin (for manufacturing) is not in the lower left corner.
