We have recently had a directive from a major client forbidding the use of DWG formats exported from Revit without a verifying DWF file. This is on certain views which show ceiling grids or floor pattern layouts. The accuracy of these layouts to consultants is essential for services locations, tiling patterns etc.
The problem is that, on occasion, the resultant exported DWG patterns do not reflect that which was set in the RVT file, and has, on one occasion at least, slipped through the checking net.
I have seen a recent blog on "REVIT RANTS" where a list called “Export to DWG Known Issues“ was published. there was no mention of this issue and can only assume that it is a rare occurrence.
The client had mentioned in their directive that it was a "known issue".
