Hi all,
I have to draw a series of buildings of different heights & widths and roof pitches with exposed rafters & purlins and was wondering if there was a way to create some form of rafter family that'll allow me to control length, angle etc Has anyone done something like that? Thanks.

G'day kwong -
have you considered using sloped glazing? You can then set the centres of your "mullions" (rafters) very easily and also easily control the pitch.
Just a thought.

Thanks Adam,
I'll give that a go and any thought is a good thought at this stage!
Hi Kwong I might give it a bash at creating a family that would do this. What I need is some sort of an example or picture of exactly what your talking about.

You can take a look here (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=17293&highlight=roof+rafters) for a rafter family that may help.

Thanks Elmo at this point I can't send anything as the project is not public yet, but I'll try modifying it slightly (need time) so it's not recognisable just in case.
Andrewg, Thanks for the roof frame family, I shall go through thoroughly what you've posted and see if I can apply it to my job.
