It's true, a dwf file is formatted as a zip file. You can change its extension to zip and extract it to see what files are inside. Check out this kb article (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteID=123112&id=7320722&linkID=2475874).

Hi Ed

Yep! it's true...

A look inside a DWF (http://autodesk.blogs.com/between_the_lines/2005/03/a_look_inside_a.html)

I am sure Scott Sheppard has more information on this topic, over at this blog ( Beyond the Paper (http://dwf.blogs.com/beyond_the_paper/) ).

I know you're going to think I am making this up. I am checking the forum right now. It is 9:11 PM. This morning, 7:00 AM, before I checked the forum, I wrote a blog posting that will focus on embedding fonts but will cover the anatomy of a DWF file. I swear. So look at http://dwf.blogs.com for some detail as to what all of that XML and PNG stuff is in there.
