truss that i want to have perpendicular bottom

I have created this truss. All the parameters work great. My boss now decided that he wants to have the rafters have bottoms that are perpendicular to the ground. I tried editing the family, but once i tried to reinsert it, i had some error messages. I think it is because i have the coord members attacehd to some of the sloping members and it wont recreate the association.

Any one have any smart ideas on how to modifiy the nested family and not have to recreate the coord members?
