Is it possible to edit a ceiling panel?

More specifically is it possible to replace a ceiling panel in a 2'x2' grid with a 3D object?

For example I want to replace the standard acoustical ceiling tile representation with a 3 dimensional acoustic diffusor panel (http://www.rpginc.com/products/formedffusor/index.htm).
It appears the only control over the panel (in version 8.0) is as a monolithic object governing thickness and finish appearance.

Thanks for your help in advance.

The other option would be to make a curtain wall. However this might get a little tricky with visibility issues.

Or make a ceiling hosted louver. Array it in the ceiling and the leftover part is the grid.
