I have a request for any 3D printer users. I am trying to create a mould of a concrete block and a brick. I was wondering if any of you could print out 2 of each for me. These blocks will not be full size. The scales for these blocks are for 16th scale. Please see the attachment for dimensions.

Thank you,

Brad

Brad, you may want to check out this (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=25346&page=2&pp=10&highlight=printer) post. I know this topic was brought up in the Revit forum on more than one occasion.

Hope this helps.

I could print these for you but I don't think they would work to well. Our machine uses powder and the surface is like soap stone. Release would be a problem. You need a smooth surface to mould these. The best RP system to do that is Polyjet. The parts come out smooth plastic. It is more expensive than our system but for small blocks like that it should not cost to much. What are you going to make the bricks out of? Plastic? Mould material Urethane?

The only service place that uses polyjet is Redeye RPM. Their page is http://www.redeyerpm.com/

Let me know how it turns out. I'd love to see the finished product.

Chris,

Thank you very much. These don't need to be smooth. The mould material that I would be using is from www.alumilite.com (http://www.alumilite.com). The material that the blocks and bricks will be made from would be All purpose joint conpound that is used while dry walling a house. This way I can some what mimic the real product.

thank you,

Brad
