Glass railing Question - Corners

I'm stumped by what I think should be a very simple railing. What I would like is a glass panel with a butt joint and a support post every 4ft behind the panel. I can't seem to figure out how to get the corners to have glass in them. I think the problem is there is no way to make the width parameter flexible as a panel.

Is it showing a support post there in the corner? I can't really tell if that's a post or not.

How about making the corner post be an L-shaped post that will be butt-glazed panel?

You'll need to create custom families for the corner conditions... and I'm pretty sure you'll need one for each corner condition (angle, spacing, etc.) in your project.

The issue is that, while balusters can be dynamically located, the baluster itself can't change with it. The glazing has a predefined width.

What you, meaning me, really want is to have void as the baluster and the glass panel as the space between but you're not going to get there with the railing tool.

Perhaps another tool would work though... haven't tried it yet but a "curtain wall" or maybe the new "2-pick" family would work better... can you host a 2-pick to a stair?

Well I tried the corner idea and it doesn't work because this railing type has many different corner conditions. So I just used a profile for the glass, then a balluster that is just a model line for the seam in the glass. It works very well.

What do you mean by "use a profile for the glass?" Do you have a profile family you are using, or did you mean something within the baluster family? Are you placing a railing, or doing something else entirely?

Yes, I just used a rail profile shaped to the size of my glazing. So it doesn't actually stop and start at the posts. So its not a "correct" solution, but worked for my needs at that time.

I did the same thing. The panels are a railing profile and run through the balusters. It is the only way to skip the complicated math.

That works, as long as your railing is not applied on a stair. We really need a new railing tool
