Guys,
this is the issue: I have a Revit building for a client. I have drawn few buildings around to be able to do more realistic renderings.
Now my schedule shows all the components in the project even the ones I dont care about because they are there just for the renderings.
Any idea how to filter the ones I need?
My best guess would be to put the surrounding buildings on a different phase and do it this way.
Any better ideas?
Thanks.

If the buildings you have added are not linked in you can just add a new yes/no parameter named not in schedule and then filter those elements out.

Maybe you should put the surrounding buildings in a project file of their own (keeping the building you are working on completely separate) and then for the renderings you can link the main project into the "surrounding buildings project".
This way you will be able to maintain the integrity of your primary database for the project, whilst as a bonus keep your project file smaller as well!
One trick that I found is to use the filters and hidden field options. If there are any unique parameters for the elements you want scheduled (but don't want included in the schedule), include that field in the schedule anyway. Filter the schedule by that extra field and then under "Formatting" you can check the Hidden Field box to hide that column from your schedule. What it does is give you an extra field that you can filter your schedule with, without it showing more info than you really intend. I had a similar issue once when I tried to do a curtain wall schedule with only some of my curtain walls showing up in it. I duplicated the curtain wall type, typed in a description on it's parameters, and filtered out the types that didn't have those parameters. It might have been a little bit of a lengthy approach, but it worked really well.
