Rotation symbol

My rotation symbol has disappeared and I can't seem to get it to come back. I need it to be able to rotate things based on a point other than the center of the object(s).

Any ideas?

Are you are zoomed to the extents of your geometry? The symbol shows up in the center of the geometry selected. Done this more than once while zoomed into a tiny corner of a large site.

I am zoomed to the extents. It's bizarre - sometimes it isn't there, and I look around for it and work without it for a couple of hours, and then it comes back arbitrarily.

I have just had this problem and found the solution on another thread. It is all to do with the active workset being visible or rather not being visible in view.....
