This is my first "tip" for Revit since buying it in June of 2003.

I am modelling an existing office building here in Tucson. The driveway entry has a 4' slope from the street, up to the main padded area of the site. Because this is the front of the building, I know that it will be a very dominant element of the renderings and views of the project; therefore, I really wanted to model the curbs along with the driveway and topo/site elements.
I shared this with my local Revit User's Group last night and they thought this was pretty nifty. So, I thought I would share it with you.

Model your curb as a concrete sidewalk (floor) which is only 6" wide. This way, you can utilize the slope arrow command for sloping floors. I have several sidewalks already in revit, so it was really fast to pull up, edit and label the head & tail elevations with respective offsets to match the topo. Works great!

Hope you all enjoy this one.

Or create a slab edge profile in the shape of a curb and gutter and just pick the edge of your floor(sidewalk)

Scott Brown (if memory serves) had made site based curb elements quite awhile back. I'm about to start making some curbs on a site with a modest, consistent slope. I'm curious if the sloping floor has become the methodology of choice. Thoughts?

I think the sloping floor is much easier than the components I created. Just create them all on a site workset so you can turn them off when you want.

But even better than the floor idea I thought was the ramp idea, this one lets you turn corners. Basically the ramp one used a railing profile shaped like a curb, edit the boundary lines of your ramp to whatever shape your sidewalk is and you then can have curved sloping sidewalks.

Thanks all for your input. I'm also looking for how to place sloping curbs in Revit models.

I quite didn't get the solution. Do you mind elaborating it. I would greatly appreciate that. Thank you.
