I recently upgraded to Version 9 and have now realized that there is a problem in the way I did it that was hidden until now. When I upgraded, I opened my company default file and saved it as rel. 9 to create my new default file. By doing this I figured I was shortcutting all the set up I did in the template and would not have to try and remember all of the changes I made.
Here is the problem. In going through some info, I realize that the version 9 curtain wall - storefront family has been changed to work better. Since my original template included the old definition, I do not have access to the new features. I tried copying in a new curtain wall but this failed because the existing definition trumped the new one. I guess this is because it is a system family. I fixed this problem by deleting the old family from my template and copying a new curtain wall from the training file.
This is a long description to ask my real question:
How do I know if I am missing other updated items?
I really do not want to recreate my template from scratch every time I update.
Does anyone have a suggestion?
