Phasing imported DWG lines?

Is it possible to import dwg information as Model Lines instead of Detail lines or a way to convert Detail lines to Model lines? I'm trying to assign phasing to linework that was imported in and I can only get it to come in as detail lines (without phasing options in the properties). Is it possible to assign different phasing to imported DWG lines? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

When importing to a standard view, uncheck the "Current View only" box and the dwg will be inserted as a model object on the current workset.
