View Full Version : Plot to file setting toggles off by itself

We are running landdesktop 2004 and we started noticing that the "plot to file" check box was toggling back to unchecked after a layout was plotted. Withing the same drawing though some of the layouts retain the "plot to file" setting while others don't.
The ones that do not retain the setting, also get a message next to the check box saying that "for this plot only".
Has anyone encountered such problem and what could the solution be?
Seems to be related to some layout specific settings.
Thank you for any help in that matter.

Are you using named page setups? If not, I would suggest you do, and assign them to the layout.

We do usually use <previous plot> from the pull down and it has never caused problems when we were running 2000i.
As far as I can tell, named page setups do not have a setting regarding "plotting to file".
I just created a named page set up and applied it when plotting on of the layouts in the drawing and it set everything but the "plot to file" check box......
What variable controls the "plot to file" setting?
Thank you for your help.

Plot previous IS not a very good cad standard, unless you know that
all plot are the same. To that end a named page set-up is your best
option, as ALL setting regarding plotting that layout are saved.
I'm thinking that what is happening here is that the PLOT command is being
used, not Page Set-up and THEN plot. If this is the case ensure that the
little toggle that reads SAVE CHANGES to layout is toggled ON, or
it will continue to reset itself when you PLOT and not Page Set-up to plot.

Within a given file all the layouts require the same plot settings (same plotter, plot scale 1 to 1, same pen settings and the "save changes to layout" is checked ....
Now what :-)
Something is not quite right it seems. The ghost is in the machine...
Also, I just tried the page setup route and it does not give me an option to plot to file. I need the plots saved to files and the page setups do not seem to be the answer to the problem... :-(
Thank you for your tips gentlemen
Have a great day

I dunno, when I issue the PLOT command
this is the box I see, and I do get an option to save
a Named Page Set-up with plot to file enabled.
