Puzzled!!!!
How do you dimension repeating details.
Such as individual bricks within a brickwork repeating section.

There are no references in repeating details to apply dimension to. A workaround is to place the detail component that is part of the repeating detail where you need them to be dimensioned.

Thanks for the suggestion. It is a shame that you can't align either.
I think its simpler to array each item.
Perhaps autodesk can add some other dimension commands to there list?

As far as bricks are concerned, standard modular size, I ALWAYS array them. Being 3 brick courses to 8 inches, that makes each brick + mortar joint equal to 2 2/3" which of course Revit can't actually do. It's a fraction, and 3 bricks in a repeating detail ends up being 7 253/256". When you get up a floor level or two, your coursing starts to get close to a full inch off of where it should be, not acceptable when you're trying to place window openings at coursing heights or to keep the brick coursing aligned with masonry CMU coursing.

I always place one brick, array it and move the brick to the last place in the array, 8" away, then I select 3 bricks together and array those any number of times at 8" intervals.

Make your detail component with 3 bricks then...set the distance for the overall coursing...

I thought of doing that the other day, make a detail component of 3 bricks, with visibility parameters to show only 1, 2, or all 3 bricks. Then do a repeating detail up until the top courses in the wall, and place a single detail component for the top few courses, set to however many bricks remain to complete the wall height.
