An often-voiced complaint about CUI has been its startup time, i.e. the time between you entering the CUI command and you having a responsive dialogue box on screen. This is supposed to be quicker in 2007, particularly with 2nd and subsequent uses within an AutoCAD session. What are your experiences? Is 2007 CUI startup significantly faster on your system, when using your CUI files?
If you can do an apples-for-apples comparison between 2006 and 2007, I'd be interested to hear about your CUI startup times. I'll get you started with my experiences.
PC specs: dual core P4 3.0 with 1GB RAM.
2006:
1st: 12 secs
Other: 3 secs
2007:
1st: 8 secs
Other: 4-6 secs
That's when using my production menu structure. I should point out that when using a vanilla menu system, 2007 is significantly quicker after the first startup: I see times in the 1 to 1.5 second range.
FYI, my menu structure goes like this:
Main:
WC_MAIN
|-- WC_USER
|-- (Other custom partials loaded as reqd)
Enterprise:
WC_ENTERPRISE
|-- ACAD (untouched)
|-- EXPRESS (untouched)
|-- WC_GEN (most of our custom stuff is in here)
|-- WC_SHEET
Thanks in advance for any responses.
