We use viz to do our rendering (we feel it gives you much better job then accurender). The one benefit of using accurender is that it seems there are hundreds of plants preloaded into accurender, and it is just a matter of apply them around the scene.

what i wouldl like to know is if there is someway to export them out to a program like viz? I tired on a few plants, but all that comes along is the cad stick block.

Just curious if i am trying something wrong (thru regular export), or if that is the catch, you can only use accurender plants in accurender.

I know that you can buy plants for viz, but i was trying to explore this option.

Thanks

Justin

Check www.archvision.com for planting. It's a plugin for Max and Viz and gives awesome result in speed and quality.

The plants are actually created at render time, prior to that they do not exist. Here is what the Accurender website says...

Fractal vegetation
Over 500 species of mathematically generated 3-D plants with seasonal variation are included with AccuRender. Most other products paste on simple bitmaps, giving unrealistic shadows and reflections.

Realistic 3-D trees and plants are "grown" in memory at the time of rendering to produce life-like results.

It is not possible to import accurender plant into viz/max as it is not a 3d object it is just a procedural plant generated by accurender. The only thing you can import is the line representation of the plant.rfa and will be useless in max/viz.

If you want some nice tree you can try archivsion rpc tree but that is not that good though you can also try opacity trees from imagecel, got3d, or some plug-in like onxytree etc..
