I'm doing a lot of space planning work lately, and would like to be able to copy the areas and color fill from one area scheme to the other to show different options. Unfortunately, Revit will only copy the boundary lines. Try to copy areas, area tags, or color fill and I get an error about being a different scheme. So I have to go around and recreate all the areas again for the new scheme. This also ends up with color fills that are different. Seems kind of silly to have to go to all that work for something that should be so simple. Also seems inconsistent, because the Area Styles work from one scheme to the next. Why not the rest? Am I missing something simple, or is this really not possible?
Ideally, I'd like to be able to save color fill info as part of an area style. That way I could just keep adding new area names and colors to the area style schedule in my template and all would be consistent. I don't want to have to maintain a separate list for every area scheme I might create.
Thanks,
Don
