When I import a 3D model from autocad into a drafting view in Revit 9.0, it comes in as a plan view only. I think I am missing a step somewhere...please fetch me up!

Thanks!

what view is the 3d model in when you import it (ie plan or isometric)? I had this issue with a file from an outside consultant, and it had to do with the way the view was exported out.

Can you open acad and rotate to the correct view then save and re-import?

I did save it in a 3d view prior to importing into Revit, but it still comes in as a plan view only. I am surmising that the drafting view is a 2D view only and in order to bring in 3D details you need to import them as images. Is this correct?

Thanks!

There is a command in acad called flatten that might help. you might get a skewed view, but at least the 3d info will be represented as 2d linework.
