Alright, here is my dilemma. I am doing a project which I defined a nice ceiling throughout this hotel and detailed in all my sections by using drafting when necessary but now I have to change them all because of the owner! I realize that things happen and things need to be changed but I was thinking, is it possible to create some sort of bulkhead transition from one ceiling height to another without spending a bunch of time? I was thinking of creating a different thickness's of ceilings with an air space to show a line from one bulkhead height to the other but that doesn't fully solve my problem. Just wondering if anybody else had a suggestion.
One other thing, is it possible to create a gypsum board on metal stud ceiling that shows the studs in section?

I just use walls with their bottoms attached to the ceilings... works pretty well.

2 ways,
1. in SD make a ceiling type that is actually 2' tall or however tall you need your soffit to be then set your course scale to solid fill grey or whatever.
2. CD's build compound ceiling and walls as previous post.
A 3rd option is just create a wall type the width of your bulkhead and use a base offset, then just add the non-compound ceiling to the bottom of it for tagging.
