I've created a generic family. Just a basic stucco trim piece. But I don't want to be able to see it on my plan view. How would I create or add a parameter to it so I can turn it off in my plan view? Or how would I add it to a subcatagory that I've already created?

Devin
go to your Rfa > select the trim > go to it's Elements Properties > Identity Data > Assign the subcategory you created for the trim.
Load the RFA in your project > View > Viability and Graphics > check uncheck the subcategory.

That's my problem. It's been so long since I created a new subcatagory I can't remember how to do it. Can you refresh my memory? Thanks

Could you not just turn off plan visibility for the model geometry while in the family editor? Or do you want to be able to see it in some plans but not in other plans?

Yes I do need to be able to see it in other plan views, just for refrencing and placement.

Sorry to revive an old thread but to the extent that the subcategory is added is there a way to apply it to multiple families all at once?

You can transfer project standards with the family open. But you have to do it for each family.
