Ihave an Architectural floor plan drawn to attach to future sheets named A0-BASEPLAN.

Working on another new sheet I XREF the ABOVE drawing & place it where needed. On my current working drawing at the 0,0 coordinate for the referenced A0-BASEPLAN the following text appears:

Xref A0-BASEPLAN

How do I remove this? Hope the explanation is not too confusing.

Thanks
Bjack

Use the XREF manager to point this file to the CORRECT location of the
MISSING xref file which is why you see the refference to the missing xref,
i.e. the text that spells out the missing file name.

Or use the XREF command to browse to the new path of the missing XREF
and ensure you check the box that reads SAVE PATH.

I have detached, attached & save path....still TEXT there. When I pick the text the XREF part of the drawing highlights.

Any more suggestions???

It sounds like you have an xref that was accidentally erased and not detached.....
try detaching it, erase the text, do a purge all, then reinsert your x-ref......

hope this helps

That XRef, A0-Baseplan, is not resolving. It sounds like there is an XRef of that name in the drawing that you are XRefing into the current drawing. Switch the XRef Manager to tree view. Do you see indication of a missing XRef there? Post a png/jpg of that dialog if you don't understand what you see there.

Detached, deleted, erased, purged, closed, open.........

No XREF listed in Base drawing or working drawing. Closed the ACAD & attached XREF again & same text as in my original post shows up.

More help please??

Actually,

I didn't notice the time of the post.
I had just returned from meeting
some folks and picking up some data
for and earthwork project for over the week-end.
Just my way of stay in-tune with the processes
and methods others are using, to improve the
classes I teach.

Robert & Mike,

Thanks very muuch. I started the process to Zip the drawing to Email both of you. Did a Zoom-All on the A0-BASEPLAN & there was the "Xref A0-BASEPLAN.dwg" at 0,0.

It was text, on current layer. Not sure how it got there since I have never used the XREF command in my BASE drawing. Selected "text" & deleted.

Everything fine now. Thanks for all the responses. Apologies for bother.
