iFilterShop provides a solution for indexing the strings in DWF files. This allows you to find files uisng a search engine.

I know this is not as handy as being able to type in a text string from a DWF viewer and have the viewer pan and zoom to the sheet and section of the DWF that contains the string. But it's a start...
