Does anyone have any experience with the numerous layers that are created in AutoCAD, after exporting from Revit?

If so, do you have a standard way of simplifing them to an office AutoCAD standard?

When exporting from Revit to AutoCAD ".dwg" format, by default, Revit uses the NCS/AIA layering standards. You can define a text file for Revit to use that is a match to your company layering system. File -> Export -> CAD Formats -> select "options" button -> select "layer settings" button -> run through this entire dialog box to initially setup the layer conversion (i.e. Walls -> A-Wall, Walls/Interior -> A-Wall-int) then "save as" that file for future use. The tricky part is trying to figure out what the Revit entity is and making sure you define the right layer for it to convert to. It took me a few experimental exports to fine tune the layers to our office standards and I still find a few oddballs here and there.
