EDIT IT EDIT WALL JOINS!

Is there any way around edit wall joins tool not letting you pick what you desire??
this tool has been acting inconsistent, meaning it would sometimes let me choose the wall end and sometimes doesn't... am i doing something wrong? any suggestions / similar experiences?

If you are selecting the wall join command then would get the scenario you are seeing. But if you select the wall then right click on the dot on the end that you want to disallow join, then you will be able to align it to wherever you want without it joining into another wall.
