once again...
I have a large glazed surface that lies on the surface of a wedge shape cut out of a cone. We want to build this with a curtain system, with glazing panels 5' OC at the datum height of 24 feet (2.63 degrees of arc). Is there any way to control the placement of the curtain system gridlines without actually writing a script to place them?

Too large....

You can enter a formula in the type parameter dialogue for the curtain system for vertical mullion spacing. A little high school geometry should get you the formula needed. Someting like arc length of glazed portion of wall at the required elevation/the angle between mullions (at least I think so... it's been a while since I've been in high school ;) )
Once you are there you can justify on the center of the whole wall assembly to get it lined up right. You may also have to duplicate your cone mass so you can apply the curtain system only at the appropriate angle.

Can one reference the height of a curtain panel in the formula? If so, how?

In the instance parameters of the curtain system just set your offset to correspond to the appropriate elevation.

Offset would not have helped, actually; problem was that the width of the curtain panels increases as they go up the wall, so their width depends on their height. However, counting the mullions turns out to be exactly what was called for; Revit evenly spaced them around the circumference of the cone.
