Steel Beam Canopy

I want to create a flat roof canopy at an entrance of a building w/ a WF Steel beam as the fascia and supported by cables. Would you create a profile for the WF or is there another way? Thanks.

I made a WF profile and modeled it as a host sweep on the edge of a flat roof. It worked fine. Does anyone know a better way?
