We frequently find that when we try to underlay a floor plan the windows, plumbing, etc show fine, but the walls in the underlay disappear. Any reason why this should happen? Does the underlay tool not work some of the time?

I've found that this happens mostly when roofs are turned on (even if they are not visible because they are above the cut plane). When you're having underlay visibility problems, you might have to play with visibility a little bit. It does seem though, that usually the culprits that make underlaid walls not visible are roofs or floors.

Figured it out. The Bottom of our Primary Range was intersecting with the walls below. Revit won't show walls in the floor below as an underlay if they are already included in the view range. Found the answer in the Online Knowledge Base. Thanks.

Good deal. I was just having this problem here as well, and this seems to be the culprit...
