I really don't miss those multi sheet updates across the CD's in AutoCAD.

When I did elevations the old way, one of the basic graphical standards was to use heavier lines for portions of the elevations that are closer to the viewer. And then pop out the edges. Has anyone developed an process with this graphical standard in Revit?

Also, when I want to show footing below grade in the elevations was there a tool to let this be shown without detail linework?

Thanks,

For elevations I use the graphic overides for the projection lineweights found under VV or VG to set the lineweights how the majority of the building wants to read. Then use the linework tool and or detail lines to heavy items close and grey out or lighten objects beyond.

For the Footings below grade use the HIIDEN LINE tools that are new in 9.0.

OK both methods are understood.

Coming from ADT section lines may prove a useful toolset for elevations and sections would you think? I am sure someone at the facory is working on this as we speak.

Warning: hidden lines disappear when your turn on shadows. Particularly problematic on elevations.

Thanks for the tip, that negates the shadow tool inefficiency for presentations.
