View Full Version : Slab depressions and slab holes

If I create each on a slab and then attempt to draw lines or walls using snap points to each example I find I cannot snap to depressions where I can snap to openings in slabs.
Can I constrain to lock the depression? It moves way too easily. I can use move copy and other tools. But guess what? I can't align linework of depressions. I am getting depressed. : )
What is happening here?
Thanks

Although many reviteers may not be with me on this one, I'll just go ahead and describe how I normally do my floor depressions anyhow.
What I do is I create separate floor for each depressed area then I apply join geometry.
Works out great for me.

I haven't tried this yet but I think I would try creating a Family (probably in-place) that would use a Void to cut the depression out... this is assuming that the bottom of the slab has the same elevation on either side... if the entire slab is depressed then I would, as suggested above, use two separate slabs... good luck and don't let the frustrations get you down (and stay inside... it's hot out there <grin>)

I'll go with the hole and add a another slab element with sweeps with toedowns around it.
Oh yeah, it's hot. Saw 117 degrees on while 202 outside Scottsdale the other day and winced. Dry heat whoo, yeah right.
