Anyone doing any tilt concrete buildings? What is the best approach? I've heard curtainwall with the infills being the mullions. This seems workable but I don't know how it would work for curved recesses such as over windows, etc. Also, I seem to have a tough time with curtainwall, getting to behave like I want it to.

We do a lot of tilt-up work, and we just use walls with the end joins turned off.

Hi,
I just did one by using one wall with void for the joints. That way I could show the chamfers and edit the walls more easily. It seems to be wroking pretty well.

I haven't done one for awhile but in the past I have used this with success....

Add these lines to your Revit.ini file and you will have a new option under the Tools dropdown menu called Split Walls With Gap...works good for the joints between the panels.

[Construction]
AllowSplitwithGap=1

And how did you learn this?

I've used the curtain wall method a few times which seems to work really good. Haven't had to use this in conjuction with any curved panels though. I'd imagine if i'd have to, for the specific panels i'd do them as normal walls with disallow end joins on...

That's a nifty tool! It would be better if it automatically added a strong reference to the center of the gap, for dimensioning purposes.
