View Full Version : Elements moving backwards

We have one week before we issue a huge set. 6 people crammed into a single Revit model. And now we've gone through the looking glass...

Sections and detail sections, which were once orthogonal, now claim to be "not exactly orthogonal to the elements in the view" which results in things moving backward. If you "nudge" any element it moves in the opposite direction. This can be lived with, but dimensions also don't work.

Before I send the 100MB file off to support and have people sitting on their hands, anyone have any ideas???

Can you identify the views/objects by ID?

No, the id that pops up with the error referrers to the deleted dimension string which could not be created.

my guess is the wall got rotated slightly or the section marker got rotated, the easiest thing to do is put some angle dimensions and check for 90, you will have to increase your rounding so you see all teh decimal places.
If your section is off, its easiest to cut a new section, then copy/paste aliign your detail items and text into then new view, then delete the old. Or if you can figure out the angle it is off, you can rotate the section marker back into alignment.

Thanks, unfortunately it's not so simple. The dimensioning issue is only between column grids, or column grids and anything else, AND only in phase 2. With tolerances turned all the way up, the grids are still at 90% to a clean reference plane. Dimensions to levels work fine and dimensions in sections cut in phase 1 across the same grid lines work fine. The problem effects all the sections in phase 2, regardless of where or which direction they are cut.

Support is looking at the file, they're focusing on the dimensioning issue and don't even have a guess about the moving backward issue.
