I have a 4' tall CMU-over-metal-stud wall that is the base of a 20' tall wall. Problem is, in plan, the wall internals don't show up; the wall has to be at least 6' before that works. Is there some option I can set to make this go?

Go to view properties, pick the view range radio button, and lower the cut plane in the dialog that pops up. Default is 4'.

Or if you just want to cut that one wall lower and leave everything else at 6', you can use the"plan region" tool and adjust its cut height

Edit the instance properties of the short wall, instead of setting the Top Constraint to unconnected and specifying the unconnected height, assign the top constraint to the level above and give it a negative offset to bring it back down to the proper height above the floor. It will cut as though it were actually crossing the cut plane.

Look at the attach picture, the wall internal won't show in anyways.

assign the top constraint to the level above and give it a negative offset to bring it back down to the proper height above the floor. It will cut as though it were actually crossing the cut plane....to add to this you can set the top constraint to the same level as the base constraint and set the top offset to the height you need.
