Railing object with no rails - just balusters - possible?

I've got a complex railing situation where I believe the best solution is two separate railing objects - one with the rails (horizontals), and a different object with the verticals (balusters). When I create the railing object with only the balusters defined, I get error messages. Note that this railing object is defined with "None" for the main pattern, and for the start and end posts. The only baluster that is active is the Corner Post.

Anybody have a way to handle this?

Balusters are "hosted" by either the host or a rail. Most likely you just need to change the balusters so they are just based on the HOST with appropriate offsets.
