Hi,
I apologize if this has been hashed out already, but I can not seem to find the correct answer.
Some how I have lost my right click menu when there is not anything selected. It works, albeit in a cripled manner, when I am editing an object or select an object, but not when I do not have anything selected.
Of course, it worked fine when I initially installed the system, then I started to customize the menus by moving the "basic functions" of the "Context menu for default mode" into the main menu where I can access them faster. It was working fine, but then I went in to tweak some of the toolbars and menus and it stopped working. I can not repeat my steps...
My right-click>customization>default mode is set to Shortcut menu as are the other two radio buttons. I loaded a clean copy of the ACAD.CUI file, but there was no change, other than now I have two sets of menus at the top, which don't show up with checks next to them when I customize ...
I'm sure I just did something dumb... any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Steve

Not sure if this will help, but here's a sim thread (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=41099&highlight=CLICK).

Hi and THANKS for taking the time to respond.
Yes, I did see that, when you follow the link there it dead-ends with another user claims there is a bug in ADT 2006.. http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=41252&highlight=right-click .. I think I may just reinstall -- at this point it would have taken less time. Oh well...

Just in case any one is interested... I fixed the problem the old fashion way... REINSTALL.. LOL. Not elegant, but certainly effective.

One last update and I'll leave it for you pros:
I was able to repeat the problem, it happens when you MOVE one of the sub-menu items from the CUI shortcut menus. For example, I moved the Context menu for edit mode>Basic Modify Tools>Display Order submenu up a level and I lost my right click...
I would try it again, but since the only way I have found to restore it takes 30 minutes I don't think So.. LOL

This CUI is making me nuts...
When I first started editing my Right Click shortcut menus I had an issue with the entire right-click menu just going away, no kidding, it just stopped working, I tried the "right click customization", tried restoring the original, etc. Nothing worked, I finally had to REINSTALL to get my menu back.
OK, well..
Now, I still need to add a few commands, I find that when I delete sub-menus from the right CLUCK menu it, again, causes it to go away...
NOW, reinstall AGAIN...
SO, rather than delete submenus, I just copy them; not elegant, but it works.
Alrighty then --
That's working for the 'default mode", so I adjust my menu for 'edit mode' and it appears, but looks nothing like what I saved, or like what was there prior to my editing.
NOW, get this, no matter what I do to that menu it does not change, I just get this crippled menu..
I've wasted two days on this crud, anybody have any words of wisdom?

I feel your pain, I really do.
I too have lost my right-click menu in my 2007 ADT. It happened when I relocated my 'display order' tool from the edit menu to the default menu. I found that I could only activate a shortcut menu after I had selected an object to edit but not a default menu as I had relied on so heavily in my 2006 ADT. I have the same radio button checked for my right-click to activate the shortcut menu, but when I went back into the CUI and into the shortcut default editor, the 'display order' tool was not to be found until I got into the basic modify list. I thought that I may have placed it there by accident and so I moved it back into the edit menu and now cannot get a shortcut menu to come up unless I am editing multi line text. It looks like I 'have taken a wrong turn'. Oops.
It also looks like I'll be re-installing in the near future. I was hoping to find a way to reset the CUI to some sort of default to restore it to it's original state.
I may limp along with the icons in the tool bars for the last day of the week and wait to see if help gets posted by Sunday evening.
Good luck to you S.

It's agony for sure, I hit that farkin right click EVERY STINKING TIME -- then I fumble for another way... It's killing my productivity.
OK, so what do our systems have in common that are causing this? I have the only ADT 2007 station here, so I can not check if it's my config or the latter.

I'm curious as to what happens if you partially attach Acad.cui to the ADT cui file? BTW, Autodesk does not recommend this, so don't leave it this way. But does right-click return then? I've identified a bug in right-click menus in vanilla AutoCAD and am working with Autodesk on that issue. Yours may be related.

Hi,
I did try attaching the ACAD cui, but it didn't have any effect, other than really doinking up my menus...
