Not sure why you need a converter... Just save file Excel as a text file... Open it up in Notepad and save again to a text file.

it is about 690 types, and that is a lot of commas to add in notepad.

the converter just formats it perfectly and consistently and makes life easier.

You can save the Excel as a (CVS) comma delimited file Then open with Note pad... all the comas will be there and save it as a txt file

In Excel, save as .csv file... Then in Windows Explorer, re-name *.csv to *.txt, say Yes to the warning dialog, and VOILA!

....Revit should just read *.xls, like Inventor does.

Hi Aaron,

My thought exactly [but without the reference to Inventor]. The same could (should) be said for Word [for formatting and fonts]! I'm not saying that other software should be left out, but MS applications are [almost] ubiquitous. It really shouldn't cost Adesk that much to aqquire the licenses. Even competitive programs from Corel, et cetera, have this capability.
