View Full Version : T/ Steel elevation

We ran into (what I would call) a small Glitch today. We created a model with our steel beams set to a level with a -4" offset (so the level represents t/ slab not t/ steel). When we go to use the spot elevation tool, RS doesn't recognize the steel beams. I'm not sure if it's because there's no slab there yet, or if it's because the beam is dropped. On another note, has any one figured out a way to get the top of steel elevation into a tag? We were told that it's not possible and the spot elevation tag is the only thing you can use. Any one have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi David,
I do not think the spot elevation tool will reconize beams. Thatsure would be nice though.
It would seem that we could make a TOS tag by using the: geometry offset, or start and end level offsets as parameters.
Can you give it a try?

Regarding the Tag, I haven't even tried yet.....is it possible?

Tom, by the way, great Artical in Augi World.
