is there a faster way to copy values down a schedule? like a paste in excel? i know it automatically adds earlier values in a drop down but it takes time to click on the drop down and select.

i have a long list of door schedules, room material schedules that a lot of the values are repeating.

thanks jim. i'm reading about it right now.

im curious though, can i use this in my finish plan abbreviations? i was able to create tags that will show floor, wall, and base finishes from the values in the room tags. however, it shows the full description but i need it to show only the abbreviation.

like CP for carpet, RB for rubber base, etc. i can change it to the abbreviations but obviously it changes my schedule too. is there an way to pass this abbrevations to the full description? that way there is not broken link between the abbreviated value in my finish plan tag and the full description schedule?

not sure if i should post this question separately.

Another way is to change the sorting/grouping of the schedule (or in separate copy of the schedule) so it puts common things together and turn off Itemize Every Instance. The result is a shorter list where entering one value applies to many at once.

thanks steve,

the 'turn off Itemize Every Instance' helped a lot as well on other not too typical rows.

Also, If you select multiple rows in a schedule view (ctrl click for individual lines, shift click for ranges), then select a plan/3d/sectio netc view, you can hit the properties button and get the properties dialog for all the objects you just selected.
