I have dozens of element of the same type in my project. Let's take chairs for example. I took one chair and played with families and parameters and after some efforts found the design I like. Near my new chair is another one, but it is of previous type. I use Match Properties tool and change the type. I have not only one chair of the previous type but a number in various sides of my project. I want right click on old chair and see a menu item Select All Instances. In this way I can change all items of previous type to new ones by two clicks.
Try this:
1. Call Match Properties tool
2. Select an object as template
3. Check "Multiply" on Option Bar
4. Right click on "wrong" object --> I expect to see the string 'Select All Instances' in menu

I "think" all selection tools have to be accessible in Multiply mode of the Match Properties command, filter for instance.

Is it not nearly as simple to select the wrong chair, Right Click Select all Instances, switch to the correct chair via the Type Selector or via Properties?

Is it not nearly as simple to select the wrong chair, Right Click Select all Instances, switch to the correct chair via the Type Selector or via Properties? If we have only one wrong chair we also can correct chair via the Type Selector. But we have a great tool Match Properties. It makes the same changes but much easily. But in selecting a number of items it has limitations. That is why I offer to enhance the tool.

I assumed that but then again I've always viewed match properties as a light duty tool, onesy, twosy while the other approach was more brute force.
