Color fills & linked files

I have some floor plans linked into a site plan which contains an underground level, I have set the color fills on in the linked floor plans but apparently when I link them into the site I have to turn the floors off in the site plan to get the color fills to show up, which exposes walls etc in the level below, can anyone suggest a workaround for this? or am I not setting the visibility correctly?

When you create color fills initially, Revit turns the floors off, so you're on the rigtht track there. What is your view depth set to? If you change it so that the depth is the current level only, you won't see the walls below unless they protrude into your current level.
