As I am putting a set of working drawings together I am trying to find a way to easily work with the visibility/graphics of different views. Is there a way to export or import settings. For instance if I have and electrical plan, is there a way to save the state of the visibility/graphics settings, so I can apply it to other plans to get the same components to turn on or off? I imagine revit must have something like this. Right now I am going view to view, individually setting how I want the view to look, it takes forever.

Check out View Templates under the View menu

Look into View Templates. Right-click on the name of a view in the project browser to save a new template, or to apply a previosuly saved one to another view.

Here is a question. is there a way to know if a user has applied a view template, but changes some view settings after applying the template? From what i see, the view template is still shown, but you can still changes the view setting after.

thanks, that worked great. Now is there a way to copy a view template and make changes to it?

Under the settings menu select view template, duplicate and you're off to the races.

As for your question Justin, not that I'm aware of. If you're that unsure you can always re-apply the view template just before you plot. Remember that you can apply a view template to multiple views using the project browser so it doesn't take long.
