Printing shadows chokes my HPLaserjet 5500

When I send any elevation with shadows to print it crashes my Laserjet 5500
can anyone suggest a way to fix this? is it a memory problem at the printer?
the only way I can print anything is to make a pdf, which takes forever as well.

Try printing "from computer" you have to change a setting in your printer properties to process from computer vs processing on the printer. If that doesn't work print to pdf first, then print the pdf.

If that doesn't work print to pdf first, then print the pdf.if you go with printing from a PDF make sure you change the optimization in your hp settings from drawings to images...this will cut your printing time of a pdf drastically.
